Hello whacky people.

Post by Cjero on Sat Nov 09, 2013 10:13 am

Hey everyone, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. There's not much for me to say, as I tend to lurk or blatantly stop watching a Forum after a while. That doesn't mean we can't be friends, now does it? What to say what to say... I like Writing, Gaming, Aesthetics, Anime and such things. I stumbled across Hypnoponies from a friend, or rather he told me that he hypnotized himself having Pony ears. Being the curious person I am I decided to give it a chance. It still hasn't worked, although I did not expect it to the first couple of tries.

(Do not take offense for my title, merely a playful introduction.)

Edit: Also, I'd like to offer myself as a Voice over for the scripts, if wanted that is.

Hello and welcome! Yes, I believe there is a great need for voicebro support. You should contact Foxxxy or Celestia Madrigal or Rarity to offer your services. Be aware that they are all extremely busy, so you may need to be patient (and maybe just a bit persistent, too).

What a warm welcome, thank you. @TrickShy Well, I'm not the persistent type really. And... Voice'bros'? *Chuckle* Interesting term. But I'll just work on Trixie Lulamoon and put it up somewhere. Although I hope I will get some results with the Pony ears myself! I hope the community will be booming with many new Ponies!~

Welcome to the forum and Hypnosis.
I hope you have a nice time exploring your pony side and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

And thank you for offering your voice acting skills. The rest is quite busy at the moment so they will be glad to have an extra help.

Ah, well since most Topics are locked and aren't able to be posted on I decided to ask my question here, I hope you don't mind. What would you all rather have? A smooth, but low volume voice. Or a loud, but a 'crackling' voice. I don't have a quality mic, but I can reduce the background noise quite a bit. Opinions?

A low but smooth voice probably works the best for hypnosis. Crackling will only disrupt a ponies trance.

Eh, well on the matter of the file it's going not too good... It's hard using a cheap 5 euro mic while trying to reduce Background noise, and making quality sound. Although, I found a typo which kiiiiind of costed a whole 20 lines (Because I'm a total noob) for me. "your heat beating". Unless it is meant like that. Cheers, oh and could anyone tell me where I should post this because I'm pretty sure this isn't the place.

Hello, Cjero, welcome to our forums! Yes, we do need a few voices for scripts- though at the moment, the Trixie script is not one of them (I've been in the process of recording it myself for the past three months or so...kinda ridiculous, I know, but I've almost reached completion now Smile). There are however, more scripts that could use voicing, such as the OC scripts. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Alrighty, well three months? O . o Might I be so bold to ask, what've you been doing for three months? ...Don't tell me you've been editing the sound for 3 months, no way I can do that! Eh, but I'll look over the scripts again then.

@Soarin Well alright, although I am a perfectionist(Sort of) I try to excel... Haha... I've been at the script for 5 hours straight now, and each time my tongue slips up or I breathe in the mic I start all over x , x. Anyways, thank you. I've actually been listening to other hypnosis scripts to talk like it.

It was a mixture of laziness and a lack of time. Toungue...Do you do sound engineer stuff? That's one of the areas we need help with the most since we currently only have one pony really capable of file assembly. Also, if you do decide to continue voicing I recommend purchasing a condenser mic.

A condenser what now mic? I bought a new mic recently, although it still sounds weird. Might be my computer, and I don't really do much with sound. Audacity does most of the work, (Normalize, Equalize, some noise removal and you're ready to go!) It's a pain in the flank for me, since for some reason my mic just picks my voice up more robotic as well as very low. Gah.

It's a type of mic that works really well for recording voice work and such. Here, have a video to help explain.

I would, but I don't think it's my microphone... I'm using my Logitech now, I bought a cheap Jack-in one today but it seems that it's just my laptop. And my budget is very limited, since I bought earphones as well. Siiiiiiigh, I will have to use my Logitech headset for now.

Edit: Do you by any chance know why my Jack-in microphone might sound like it's underwater/robotic/low? Google has really failed me on this one @.@
